Our club has a proud history and a strong commitment to community sport participation. We have strong values of supporting growth an development, and pride ourselves as a club that welcomes new players, members and supporters.
Churchill United Soccer Club was formed in 1969, and we lead the club today with ambition for the future and connection to the past. There is much in our history to be proud of, from the early days of our founders, to the "Golden Era", through to more recent growth in our junior program.
Under outstanding leadership from previous executives, with special mention of Stephen Breheny, our club has seen growth in our junior program from 40 players and 5 teams, to now 170 juniors and 21 teams. Our club-built social rooms, led by Jamie Robson and members in 2007-08, still provide one of the best community spaces and sports viewing in Gippsland. And we're proud of our new multi-million player change facilities built in 2023, with equal spaces for both our men's and women's teams, and dedicated referee and first aid rooms. Finally, our $200,000 main pitch upgrade has ensured we have some of the best playing facilities in regional Victoria.
Looking forward, our committee has developed a strong three-year strategic plan with five pillars for growth: Our culture, our people, our community, our governance and our facilities. We have a commitment to building stronger connections with our local community through our #YourTownYourTeam campaign, and a strong commitment to increasing female participation at our club - both players and coaches.
In line with our values, we are working towards building a strong culture of feedback - where all club members receive positive and stretch feedback often, and we become comfortable with open and honest feedback when we think something can be improved. In this regard, I welcome you to provide feedback to me directly at any time - good or not-so-good, I'd love to hear it. It is through connection and collaboration we'll achieve our aims - to grow an outstanding club for junior development and senior achievement. You can speak to me directly at the club at any time, or reach out via info@churchillunitedsc.org.au
Thank you for your ongoing support of our club. Go Rams!
