Our History
Founded in 1969 by Tom Sands Snr, Rod Stewart and other supporting founders, Churchill United Soccer Club became a place of community connection and family values, linked through the great sport of soccer.
Junior Growth
Tom Sands Jnr was a passionate advocate of junior growth and development, investing decades into supporting many of our young players in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s that would go on to become champion senior players of our club.
A legacy of community support
Our club saw a significant transformation in 2007, when club members worked together build our new clubrooms. Led by builder and project lead Jamie Robson, the full team of volunteers spent evenings and weekends over a two year period building our current, modern facilities. Strong advocacy led by Stephen Breheny (past president) saw the installation of new state-of-the-art change facilities in 2022, a new main pitch in 2024, and a social room renovation led by Kelly Bianconi in 2025.
